90 Day Fiancé

Angela Deem Exploits Her Power to Remove Michael Ilesanmi from TV

After the TikTok ban, Angela Deem from 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? went live on Instagram and claimed her estranged husband, Michael Ilesanmi, wouldn’t be returning to any spin-offs due to his behavior. Angela brought Michael to the United States from Nigeria in December 2023 in hopes of starting fresh as a married couple. However, she found it difficult to trust Michael due to his sketchy behavior in her house. Angela criticized him, ultimately leading to his unexpected departure from her home in February 2024. Michael eventually settled down in Houston, Texas. Feeling betrayed, Angela has been working to have him deported back to Nigeria.

Angela is very upfront and doesn’t hesitate to criticize Michael on TikTok.

However, with the Chinese social media platform no longer available in the United States, she went live on Instagram and expressed her feelings towards her estranged husband, Michael. According to an Instagram post from @kikiandkibbitz, Angela claimed that Michael wouldn’t be appearing on TV again, claiming, “he’s not going on a spin-off” because he is too much trouble, and the network wouldn’t want a “troublemaker” like him on the show. Angela also revealed that she doesn’t hold a grudge against Michael for betraying her.

Angela said, “I don’t wish him no harm. I just have no respect for that man.”

Angela explained that while the 90 Day Fiancé producers encourage “drama” on the show, they don’t like “trouble.” She emphasized that “there’s a difference” between being dramatic and being problematic. Angela also mentioned that she was now “happy” that she had realized that she was the only one in the relationship, suggesting Michael wasn’t as committed or involved as her. She also wanted her followers to avoid asking questions about Michael, as she didn’t want to talk about him on her platform. Angela said, “he’s out of my memory.” Wearing an American flag-themed hat and smoking a cigarette, the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 8 alum continued to warmly greet her fans, who said hello to her during the live Instagram session.

When Angela accused Michael of being problematic, many 90 Day Fiancé viewers disagreed with her in the comments section. They didn’t believe that the Nigerian reality TV star could pose a nuisance while filming. An Instagram user, @evangelistverna, commented, “poor Michael he was the one who was in trouble because of Angela.” Another user, @godzownjoy, defended Michael, saying, “no way. Mike is a troublemaker??!!” Yet another user, @renata_reynada, said, “she’s the trouble,” adding that her behavior is the reason she is no longer on reality TV. Many others expressed that they would rather watch Michael in a spin-off than listen to Angela’s complaints about him on social media.

What Angela’s Claims About Michael’s Return Mean For His Future

Angela’s recent statement regarding the network not hiring Michael for a spin-off is somewhat understandable. She is aware of the stress her estranged husband caused her, with his history of cheating and provoking her anger. Angela likely recalls his deceitful behavior and manipulation of her trust to come to the United States. Due to her past experiences with him, Angela perceives Michael as a troublemaker. She believes that the network would be hesitant to cast someone with his questionable character in one of their 90 Day Fiancé spin-offs.

Angela may have also responded negatively to Michael’s return to TV because she sees herself as the entertaining one in the relationship. She often refers to herself as the “queen” of reality TV on social media. Angela has always enjoyed being in the spotlight, creating drama, and being herself in front of the cameras. She may believe that casting Michael for a spin-off wouldn’t be beneficial for the network, since she has been the key ingredient in making their past shows entertaining. Angela probably feels that it would be too much of a hassle for producers to cast Michael because he doesn’t bring enough drama to the table.

Michael Hasn’t Hinted At Any Future Reality TV Appearances

Michael ended his relationship with Angela when he left her house in February 2024. Since then, he hasn’t teased any upcoming reality TV appearances or been spotted filming with the network. Therefore, it’s likely that Michael hasn’t been cast again after his split from Angela. However, his absence from reality TV could be due to a lack of an interesting storyline related to his romantic life, rather than being a troublemaker. Although Michael does want to return to TV, he is currently prioritizing having a peaceful life over getting involved in drama. Perhaps that’s why he hasn’t returned to the 90 Day Fiancé franchise.
